Every day of the week gets some level of respect, Tuesday’s are for ‘Two-For’s’, Wednesday is designated as ‘hump day’, Thursday ‘Bar Night . . . The RIV anyone’, then there’s ‘Finally’ Friday’s . . . need we even mention Saturday or Sunday? The one day that seems to always get kicked to the curb . . . Monday. That changes this fall, as Mobile Monday makes its way back to Lansing, Michigan.

Mobile Monday’s will provide a platform focused on mobile/wireless tech where people can go to get advice, make connections, learn about the latest in mobile/wireless tech, and gain new opportunities in the Lansing tech community. Mobile Monday Michigan, a subsidiary of the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan, is a mobile/wireless industry networking and education organization which is a branch of the International Mobile Monday organization. Here in Michigan we currently have 4 chapters (Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing and Grand Rapids) with over 2900 members state-wide. Information about Mobile Monday Michigan can be found at http://MobileMondayMichigan.org.

To kick things off, the first meeting is scheduled for September 28th at 7:00 p.m. at the chapter’s new location, the East Lansing Technology Innovation Center, Room 300 at 325 E. Grand River Avenue in East Lansing. Jeff Imholz, WebSphere Technical Specialist with IBM will share with us the IBM perspective on the Internet of Things and how it's being interpreted in the enterprise space. The event is sponsored by MTAM, LEAP and Recruitment Management Consultants (RMC), and is free to attend but does require advanced registration at http://meetup.com/MoMoLansing.

The Mobile Monday fall series continues on October 26, with Leo Dion, Principal Consultant at BrightDigit who will be speaking on the AppleWatch, and on November 23rd Richard Geyer, Engineering Lead for Microsoft Technologies at Vectorform will be speaking on Wearables.

Mobile Monday is currently looking for committee members, speakers, and anyone with ideas on how to help support Mobile Monday Lansing. Please contact leo@brightdigit.com or 517-325-3123.

Looking forward to directing a spotlight on the ‘new’ best day of the week, Monday. Hope to see you there!
